Tonight your Sun Room has been transformed into the most glorious of stages for Landel's very first Dance Competition!
As patients pass through, they will be met by upbeat theme music as a drag-wearing Prince Baka introduces your characters as the next contestants a la Dancing With The Stars style! Depending on the number of patients, either pairs or groups will be formed by Baka’s word with each group/pair getting a 10-sided dice roll for which dance they will be performing:
1 – Tango
2 – Salsa
3 – Hip-Hop
4 – Waltz
5 – Jive
6 – Contemporary
7 – Disco
8 – Swing
9 – Bollywood
10 – Jazz
When dances are determined, contestants will be directed to a clothing rack where they are to prepare based on their rolled dance style. Patients can either put on an outfit over their existing one, or change completely. A curtain only will be provided for changing privacy, however patients must be wearing a full costume before being allowed to dance.
Once in costume, patients must then dance as best they are able. Players will determine how well or poorly their characters fare in their tasks, but regardless of the performance, the routine will be critiqued by a panel of three judges – all of whom look like Baka, except altered: One in a black t-shirt and jeans, one in a dress and makeup, and one in a hoodie with excessive bling. Getting a score of 30 or 0 will allow patients to move on, however any other score will have your host telling the contestants to start preparing for their second dance!
At this point, any punishments (see below) for refusing to dance have become voided since patients have fulfilled their requirements. From here patients may do as they please – attack any form of Baka (they all count as him), just leave, pillage the costume rack if they wish, actually choose to dance again – whatever tickles your patients’ fancies. The important thing to note is that no group leaves the Sun Room without dancing this Nightshift!
A secondary way to avoid participating AND punishments is to GO BACK THE WAY YOU CAME! Doing this will allow patients to take another route without being harassed/punished, should the players not wish to participate.
Punishments should a patient refuse to dance/to dress properly/or attempt to leave:
1st refusal – a “boo track” from a pre-recorded audience will play
2nd refusal – You host will insult you severely and a “laugh track” will play or any door the patient tries to exit through will electrocute him/her, also cueing a “laugh track”
3rd refusal – patient will fall through a strategically placed trap door, then reappear clothed and ready to perform. They will be informed that their previous outfit has been “disposed of”**
4th refusal – You haven’t learned yet? This will result in DISQUALIFICATION! Patient will fall through trap door a second time but not reappear in the Sun Room. S/he will be banished back to his/her room and may try again
**Any items, reward clothing, etc will have been returned to the patient’s room for the evening. Patients are free to go retrieve it, if they so desire. This does mean that, should a patient reach to a 3rd refusal, s/he will be stuck in the dancing outfit for the remainder of the night (unless s/he returns to his/her room). 4th refusals will, however, be booted back to their rooms wearing nothing.
